It spent several minutes always vertical in the position shown apparently breathing through an open mouth before slowly submerging for another few minutes and popping up again a little further (15m) along the coast.

It was resting. We were returning from sailing. Enthused, we turned back to have another look but it has disappeared. We had never seen one there before. Sadly no ID because I was driving the car!

The seal kept popping up out of the water and almost playing with us - he came within one metre of us and swam underneath our boards. This went on for 20mins approx. It was magical!

Sea was milky / bad visibility and some churn but not too choppy.
