It seemed curious about us. We stood still for about 10 minutes watching while he swam back and forth. We left when he came ashore about 100 m down the beach. He? was quite dark but not as big as an adult. We think he was about 1.2-1.5m long

This continued for around 15 mins causing me to change route and head inland between the two points if headland . It followed me in but did not come ashore with me.
