It came from West Bay Area and stayed visible with its head out of the water for about 10 minuets. It did not seem phased by the number of people on the beach all looking at it.

Stayed there approximately thirty to forty minutes. Another Seal with different markings was sighted further out and stayed in the same place, resting in the water (sometimes submerging) for the duration of us being there.

It became more alert after a while. He / she (I cannot tell) occasionally stretched it's neck round or twisted into different resting positions. I stayed there for about half an hour (at a safe distance). It seemed like it would return to the water because it was becoming more active. I have heard that it was no longer there early this morning.
